Emergent TAV-in-TAV Following Acute Hemolytic Anemia Secondary to Undersized Transcatheter Heart Valve Prosthesis

چکیده

Paravalvular leak (PVL) driven intravascular hemolysis (IVH) is a recognized complication of surgical aortic valve replacement. This has been described less following transcatheter implantation (TAV). We present case patient with severe life-threatening hemolytic anemia TAV, requiring multiple blood transfusions, and emergent TAV-in-TAV procedure.

Intractable Hemolytic Anemia after Heart Valve Surgery

Heart valve surgery consists of valve replacement and repair. Both operations have been standard strategies for treating heart valve diseases worldwide, and are associated with excellent long-term clinical results. Hemolytic anemia after heart valve surgery, however, is a troublesome complication related to implanted prosthetic valves or rings.

Cryptanalysis of Tav-128 Hash Function

Many RFID protocols use cryptographic hash functions for their security. The resource constrained nature of RFID systems forces the use of light weight cryptographic algorithms. Tav-128 is one such 128-bit light weight hash function proposed by Peris-Lopez et al. for a low-cost RFID tag authentication protocol. Apart from some statistical tests for randomness by the designers themselves, Tav-12...

Attacking the Tav-128 Hash function

Many RFID protocols use cryptographic hash functions for their security. The resource constrained nature of RFID systems forces the use of light weight cryptographic algorithms. Tav-128 is one such light weight hash function proposed by Peris-Lopez et al. for an RFID authentication protocol. In this article we show that Tav-128 is not collision resistant. We show a practical collision attack ag...

[Hemolytic anemia secondary to paravalvular regurgitation].

Rev Esp Cardiol 2002;55(9):987 987 A 73-year-old woman was admitted for severe anemia 2 months after mitral and aortic cardiac valve replacement with Saint Jude mechanical prostheses. The differential blood count showed macrocytic anemia (hemoglobin 7.1 g/dL; MCV 111 fl; corrected reticulocyte count, 3.5%). The blood smear revealed marked anisopoikilocytosis, intense polychromasia, and abundant...
